Magnitude is an optional-account trivia game at dailymagnitude.com. This page explains the information used to run the game and save your discoveries.
Playing as a guest
You can play without creating an account. Guest progress and preferences, including sound and motion settings, are saved in your browser’s local storage. Clearing this website’s browser data removes those local saves.
Your account and discoveries
For email accounts, we store your email address, username, account creation date, and a salted password hash rather than your plain-text password. Signed-in play saves answers, scores, expedition dates, achievements and equipped rewards to the hosted database. Answer timing, timestamps and your device’s time zone are used for timing and time-zone achievements.
Cookies and security
Essential session cookies keep you signed in, and a security cookie helps protect account forms against forged requests. Sessions expire after 30 days. To limit repeated sign-in attempts, the service stores a hash of the connecting network address, an attempt count and a time window. A hash is not a guarantee of anonymity.
Hosting and service providers
Magnitude uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure to serve the website and store online account records. These providers process information needed to operate the service, including network requests and operational logs.
Questions and account requests
Contact jgrande0307@gmail.com with privacy questions or to request access, correction or deletion of your Magnitude account information. Include your account email so the request can be verified; never send your password. Signing out does not delete your online account or its saved records.
